The Me Me Me Artist
written by Daniel J Towsey
As some of you may know.
I am The Visionary Folk Photographer.
As such I have much experience in dealing with people in front of my camera,
be it for still images or my folk videos series
I have met so many wonderful intellectual artists.
But I have also met so many that truly suffer from the ME ME ME grandiose syndrome.
So many people in the entertainment industry that are not performers,
have encountered this ME ME ME personality.
These ME ME ME artists are the most selfish individuals one can ever meet.
Their being on stage for the world, often gives them this superiority complex.
They think and believe they are the center of the universe.
They totally discount and disrespect all other hard working professionals,
such as the camera guy, the video guy,
the make up girl, the stage manager,
the producer and even the the audience.
They believe that their ME ME ME ego is hidden behind their act or performance.
The ME ME ME artist can not humble themselves but they can perform (act)
out their public image to fool themselves and often the audience too.
But those behind the scenes that work very hard,
are the ones who truly make it possible for the artist to exist.
The kindness and sincere pampering that many behind the scene give to the ME ME ME artist,
Is not really appreciated by these ME ME ME artists.
Instead these artists think themselves above those giving them praise.
These ME ME ME artists are too often rude, demanding, impatient and even violently over bearing.
These artists then wonder why their managers will rob them.
They then wonder why their careers are not advancing.
They wonder why they are not profiting.
They wonder why more and more fans disappear.
It is no wonder to the rest of us why.
I believe what your are describing is also called Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
It is one of the various forms of psychosis by those who crave adulation, and are usually sociopaths by nature.
There are many cults today that refuse to believe in Jesus, and want to promote their self-serving, self-centered, self-important juxtaposition on others by force when they can. Unfortunately, many of these people are drawn to the political power centers of our various societies inflicting irreparable damage to any who are unable to resist their political power.
They cannot yield to sound reason when it obstructs their personal agenda. Our educational system has been broken for a long time, and the people perish for lack of knowledge.
